That was June 2013, I and my friend hiked Jiankou Great Wall, before
we went there, we heared a lots of words about this "Wild Great Wall".
It becomes a popular photographic hotspot and hiking destination in
recent years. Jiankou is translated as "Arrow Nock" in English, since
the shape of the mountains where the wall was built is like an arrow
with the collpased ridge opening as its arrow nock. The main section of
the wall was built along the ridges with steep cliffs on each side. So
we weared the clothes and shoes, that was very important to hike Wild
Great Wall. When everything ready, we started from town at 7am, it is
located at Xizhaizi Village, 30 km from Huairou District, and 70 km from
Beijing.
We
reached Jiankou Great Wall about 9:30am, we was shocked because of the
amazing view, was much wilder, more challenging and more beautiful than I
expected. The frequency of the sharp rises and falls of the Jiankou
wall, together with the incredible steepness of many of the
tower-sections over the plethora of mountain peaks, the blue sky and the
green. We just scared about if we can "turn over" this wall. There was
no proper road or step can walk, we have to go through the woods without
road. One guy in our group was heavily overweight and the whole trip
was utter torture for him. It's a bit hard for people who never
exercise, but it's doable nevertheless.
After a while we walked
the woods, we finally saw the "Wall". At the wall we were amazed by the
beauty of the natural surroundings and not least the feeling of touching
down on "real history" as we walked fo about 1.5 hours along side the
Wall. It was dangerous actually to climb the Wall, because there was no
any steps and parapet. But we can help each other and we really enjoyed
it. Time was going fast, at noon, we just seated on the wall and had
cookies & drink. After the rest, we got more energy and continue to
conquest this real Wall. It took about another 3 hours, we turn over the
mountain and found a road (It was a road compare to the woods), go down
faster, we were very tired and hungry already. We were very happy when
we saw the farmers were selling fruits, we bought a lot and catch our
Bus, and talked a lot about our trip on the way back to town. It was
Fantastic experience the Great Wall JianKou.

Special Danxia Landforms in China
China's landscape is vast and diverse, ranging from forest steppes
and the Gobi and Taklamakan deserts in the arid north to subtropical
forests in the wetter south. And Danxia landform is one of the special
lands. The Danxia landform refers to various landscapes found in
southeast and southwest China that "consist of a red bed characterized
by steep cliffs". It is a unique type of petrographic geomorphology in
China. Danxia landform is formed from red-coloured sandstones and
conglomerates of largely Cretaceous age. The landforms look very much
like karst topography that forms in areas underlain by limestones, but
since the rocks that form danxia are sandstones and conglomerates, they
have been called "pseudo-karst" landforms.

Huxi Mosque in Shanghai Guide
There is an estimated Muslim population of 85,000 in Shanghai, China
and 10 ethnic groups adopting Islam as their religion. As history
recorded, Islam was first introduced into Shanghai during the Yuan
Dynasty (1341-1868) when Muslims in the Yuan army settled in the
Songjiang District. When Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), there are some Muslim
generals stationed in Jinshanwei and Jiading around Shanghai. To
strengthen the coastal areas, the Ming government had migrated about
2,000 Muslims of Hui minority to the coastal area of Shanghai
Jinshanwei. This incident led to the building of a mosque in Qingpu
County.
Among those mosques built in Shanghai, Songjiang Mosque is the oldest one to be constructed during the Yuan Dynasty. Other major mosques in Shanghai include Xiaotaoyuan Mosuqe, Huxi Mosque, Pudong Mosque, Fuyou Road Mosque, Xiaotaoyuan Female Mosque and Songjiang Mosque. Huxi Mosque was built because of a group of Muslims from other provinces living together in Xikang Road. They rent a house to do prayer. Then in 1921 they built the original Huxi Mosque with the help of other Muslims.

Day Memory Of Beijing Forbidden City
The Forbidden City is not only has a gorgeous outside, but also has
the cultural history of China inside. You could get to know more China
from here, because this palace was the imperial palace in the Qing and
Ming dynasty. The ancient Chinese kings, queens and concubines were
living in this place.
The Chinese name of the Forbidden City is "Zi Jing Cheng", and this name is from an ancient myth. The ancient Chinese astrologer thinks that the Jade Emperor is living in a star which named "Zi Wei", therefore the king on the earth who needs to live in the same place as the Jade Emperor, so they named this place "Zi Jing Cheng" to represent the King of China. Such a beautiful name and myth, isn't it?
The Forbidden City has more than 720,000 square meters and more than 8,000 rooms. I could not imagine how big this palace is, but I could feel how imposing this architecture is when I stood up in front of the palace. You will feel that everything is so small in front of this building.
In the past five hundred years, the palace has lived in 14 Ming dynasty kings and also has lived in 10 kings of the Qing dynasty. Therefore this palace has built several times, but the ancient people had kept the original shape always. According to historical records, there were 230,000 craftsman had built the Forbidden City, and have several hundred soldiers and workers. This great project had finished in 15 years.
And I need to mention that there is a river around this city, the ancient Chinese named it as "Hu Cheng river", means this river has a function which is to protect the city inside. There are four doors of this "Hu Cheng river", and have several doorkeeper of each door. When the war is coming, the ancient people could close these doors to keep people inside in safe, and also could defense the enemy.
The Forbidden City construction rests on its layout and the function divides into "the outer court" and "the imperial palace" two major parts. The outer court has made up of
three palaces which are Hall of Supreme Harmony, Hall of Complete Harmony and Baohe palace. And the Hall of Supreme Harmony in the Forbidden City is not only a place for the emperor to celebrate festivals, wedding and birthday, but also is the place for rehearsing rites. Therefore the Hall of Supreme Harmony is one of the most gorgeous place of the Forbidden City.
The architecture-centric of imperial palace is the Palace of Heavenly Purity, the Hall of Union and the Palace of Earthly Tranquility. These buildings had made for the emperor living with the royal harem.
This is all I could remember, this place impressed so much. More about Forbidden City tours and Beijing day tours here.
